The Academy of Criminal Justice and Homeland
Security at West Creek High School prepares students for careers in Law, Public Safety,
Corrections, and Security. This Academy offers programs of study in Criminal
Justice and Correctional Services. Depending on the program of study chosen,
students may have the opportunity to earn several industry certifications through F.E.M.A. Students attending the Academy of Criminal
Justice and Homeland Security should have an interest in learning about the inner workings
of the Criminal Justice System. Students who participate in the Academy of
Criminal Justice and Homeland Security may have unique educational opportunities by working
with with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Clarksville Police Department,
the Montgomery County General Sessions Court, the Air Assault School at Fort Campbell, and
the 716th Military Police Battalion. Students may be able to participate in dual
enrollment courses through multiple TN universities that will allow them to earn college credit
that can be used towards both two and four year degrees in Criminal Justice pathways. Cross-curricular projects, to include simulated
experiences and crime scene exposure, give students the opportunity to learn from experts
in the workforce while also preparing them for post-secondary career opportunities in
the legal field or law enforcement at the local, state, and federal levels.
