(upbeat music) – [Narrator] Smart Payroll has a feature that automatically
enters statutory holidays for employees if they work standard hours. To turn this feature on,
click Company Details, the red button at the top. Select Options from the left-hand menu and click on the Auto Adjust Pay Packets for Public Holidays. And now click Save. This will set up your
payroll so that every time there’s a statutory holiday, they will fill in automatically. This is how it works when running a pay: Click Run a Pay at the top in blue. If the current pay contains
any statutory holidays, you’ll see this message in blue. Now come down and click One Touch Pay to fill in the pays. Enter the date for the
processing of the pay and then click Okay. Here you will see that
any statutory holidays for that pay period will
automatically fill in if they’re part of an
employee’s normal work pattern. If you’d like to check how an employee’s normal work pattern is set up, go to the top and click on
Employee Details in orange. Select the employee’s name and click Employee Payments
on the left-hand menu. Here you can enter the daily hours worked under each weekday box. If you make any changes, click
Save at the bottom in blue. Feel free to call the Help Desk if you’d like any changes made. A few things to note: If a step day has been
entered automatically, you can still make changes by clicking on the purple edit pencil and entering the Easter pays manually. Also, if an employee submits their hours via the app, including any hours worked on the statutory holiday,
the step day hours will be entered automatically
paying time and a half for the step days plus recording an alternate public holiday earned. This is a day in lieu to
be taken at a later date. Also, regional step
days will not be entered automatically, but you can
still enter those manually.
