Legislation that would have cleared the way for a frac sand processing plant in Monroe County is dead. TAKE VO FILE VIDEO The Wisconsin Assembly passed a proposal last month that would have allowed Meteor Timber to fill Monroe County wetlands to build a new frac sand plant. But the Senate finished its two-year session last night without taking up the provisions. The Ho-Chunk Nation and Clean Wisconsin challenged the company’s wetland construction permit. A judge is considering whether to allow the project to continue. The legislation would have allowed construction as the project worked through the judicial system.
