Hi i’m David Cantor with the Law Offices of
David Michael Cantor and today I’m going to talk about the Highland Justice Court. If you were arrested for a DUI or misdemeanor crime and told to go to the Highland Justice Court that means you’re stopped by DPS or Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. If the city officer arrested you, you should
have been sent to the City Court. Now this particular court, the Highland Justice Court has jurisdiction boundaries. Those boundaries are Baseline Road to the north, Queen Creek Road to the south, Power Road to the east, and Price to the west, basically the
actual jurisdictional boundaries look like this… This
is the actual map now you see how is jogs in and out all over the place, that’s why it’s important to come and see us because if they arrested you outsider
those boundaries yet told you to go to the Highland Justice Court you may have
a jurisdictional defense thet could get the whole case thrown out.
Now this particular court is located at 55 E Civic Center Dr. in Gilbert Arizona, it’s Gilbert and Civic Center Dr.. The parking is up front it’s free, make sure you dress appropriately, no
hats, baseball caps, no shorts, no tank tops and sunglasses. The Judge in that particular courtroom is Steven Urie Now Steven is unusual because he lectures every single person that come before him, before they’ve been convicted its as if he assumes that every is guilty, so he is one of those judges I wouldn’t feel comfortable going in there without a lawyer. Now if you were cited for misdemeanor DUI or misdemeanor criminal case, and you’re told to go to the Highland justice court, you can call us for free initial consultation, it doesn’t cost anything, It takes about 30 minutes and we’ll go over everything in the privacy of our office. Hopefully we’ll find a way to get this thrown out or substantially reduced. If that’s you situation, I look forward to hearing from you soon. take care.
