Shame on Today for enabling this perversion of justice and political opportunism. She is perpetuating not only gross injustice, but myths about criminality and sexual offenses at a time when social hysteria about them is at extreme heights.

It is made all the more a farce given the this judge has been the subject of multiple sexual harassment incidents herself.

Anyone that supports or enables the disgusting behaviour of this judge is opposed to any notion of legitimate justice and stands opposed to the supposed ideals America stands for.

She has openly stated her contempt for justice, for the law, and for her role as a judge, and has further tarnished the legitimacy of the American judicial system.

Larry Nassar gets 175 years in prison for sexually abusing those spoiled brats in gymnastics when this guy Reggie Stephey who was driving while intoxicated only gets 7 years for KILLING two people and causing one girl to get burned alive and totally changing her appearance, taking away her independence, and causing her to get 50 operations and even more in the future. This world is very unfair and doesn't make any sense

I do believe in in partiality but at the same time we are all human beings and a judge is a human being and when a judge sees a terrible wrong that's done against someone yes he or she must have still make the ruling that's required legally but that cannot stop that person from being emotional as to what has occurred you can't stop humans from being humans

Was Nassar guilty? Most likely. However, “judge” Aqualina treated the victim-statement time as a therapy session. Very legally unprofessional. Going on the today show with a bunch of “#MeToo “ modern-day “feminists” also is very non-professional. Simone did not even testify in court against Nassar, yet is hailing this joke of a judge as a “hero”. As a job, it is not in the judges job description to be there to “comfort” the victims. Conflict of interest. I hope Larry gets killed in jail. However, legally speaking, though, Larry does deserve to get sentenced by a different judge, per his attorney’s request.

Who are the 29 dislikes!?!??- this woman did an amazing job- whats the deal?!?!?

  • kat kap Post author

During the trial she said that she will only give interviews with the survivors, but I'm afraid that the fame got to her. She made a job sentencing Nassar and listening to women, but I just hope it won't get commercialized. She's a judge, not a hero. If someone deserves this title, it's girls who spoke out despite being afraid. She is a fair judge and should be appreciated. But calling her a hero and talking about her private life is certainly too much.

To be clear, what she did/said to that animal (and FOR all. those. victims.) is amazing. I just saw all this for the first time. There is an elephant in the room that I don't see anyone addressing:

She made a point of telling "the media" that she had nothing to say until after the appeal process and even then she would only speak with them with a survivor there with her bc it's their story, not hers.

As far as I can find, the appeal process is ongoing (or ended 6 days ago, 5/4/19, at most). She was doing press as early as May 2018 (3 months later) with no survivors in sight. No survivors in that Glamour magazine article/photo shoot, either. In fact, I can't find any press she's done with a survivor…and no one is mentioning it.

EVERY story has his name first, her's 2nd (or vice versa) and rarely a survivor's name at all.

We all make mistakes and have said things we meant that later we felt differently about. I also understand that celebrity is like a drug & "the media" are like drug dealers in that sense. I 100% agree that she is a champion for those victims as well.

    I'm just sayin'…Glamour magazine??

I don't think he ever thought for one minute it was actually medical I believe he said this to hide or excuse his behavior. He knew from day one it was sexual and inappropriate from the beginning. The judge saying he actually thought it was medical and still does is wrong!

This man did horrific unimaginable things to these girls.

That said the judge absolutely show boated and used her bench to please the media. The entire proceedings were turned into a media frenzy. Into a circus. I have been in the exact position as these young woman. I understand the absolute hurt and pain associated. My abuse lasted consistently for 14 years. That’s birth to age 14. First of all some of these young girls that were still minors that were allowed to give their statement publicly in front of cameras are too young to make that type of decision. Regardless of their maturity level this will forever follow them. The memory of the abuse is hard enough to live with. Now imagine the constant repeat on YouTube for millions of people to hear your most terrifying experiences in detail. I’ve never been able to say the words out loud to more than a handful of people about my abuse. I would be incredibly mortified if I recorded my story and it was aired on YouTube for the world to see. Too many details, they weren’t embarrassing Nassar. He was enjoying their memories. He was remembering times he had probably forgotten.

The judge used the abuse of the victims to be her very own judge Judy. I don’t think she was true to herself or authentic. I think she was far more concerned with the media aspect of it all than the legal/judicial aspect of it all. Of course this is just my opinion. I am sure many other people will disagree with me, and that’s ok.

Sooo Nasser accidentally brushed an elbow on the girls while treating them.  Whats the big deal???  Seems blown way out of proportion to me.

i feel like this is THE court case of this decade the power of judge Aquilina and the survivors will be in the history books

This is so unprofessional of a judge to talk like this on a TV show! So unprofessional in comparison to the UK! Just my opinion.

Hey. The Judge looks hispanic..you sure you don't want to round her up and deport her possibly build a wall in her back yard? She was dealing
with a man who knows what PRIVILEDGE is and that is why he would not STOP. But she stopped him when his colleagues wouldn't. Shall we further the matter with discourse I think not?

I admire to all these women- survivors and I admire this brave individual-the judge.. She brings back hope in justice, in truth. Change is possible . And good will be always stronger than any evil.

  • Kevin Chamberlain Post author

This judge said she would not speak with media unless a survivor was with her because it's their story, not hers! Clearly she's not a person of there word! Imho she's a narcissist who used this situation to harvest as much attention for herself as she possibly could!!! And she will go on doing so!

I Thought she said she won't appear for an interview without a sister survivor.

This judge is awesome and did a fantastic job BUT I believ" less is more" because now Nassers lawyers are saying his Rights were violated because of things this Judge said. I hope to God he don't get off in another trial

  • Jeff Stacy Post author

where is her survivor by her side? didnt she say she wouldnt ever talk to the media, without having a survivor by her side, since its their story and not hers??? hmmmm

This is court and judgement. In many places boxes and religion will rule not truth. Its atleast great to see truth ruling.

This judge is awesome and allowing every victim to speak their mind and what he did to them.

Way to go Judge in putting this monster away for life. He used his “doctor” title to sexually abuse children and his is such an abuse of power! Horrible.

  • Connie Ward Post author

Judge, I'm impressed. So sorry for all the victims. Thank you for the sentencing. You could have accepted the glory for yourself. Instead you thought of the victims. Keep up the great work! A happier note, loved the cowboy boots, love the outfit!
