EU Withdrawal Statement- Statutory Instruments

On a slightly different note, the Hansard
Society say that 485 Brexit SIs have been tabled, but only 247, some 52% have completed
their passage through this House. This is on of the ones for tomorrow, Mr Speaker. This
is ridiculous in its level of detail, and all of this is supposed to be done by Brexit
day. How much is the Government hiding in these SIs, and how can we possibly hold this
House to account? I think that, judged by the size of that,
that is probably a combined Statutory Instrument that brings together identical changes in
regulatory arrangements but would have to be reflected in changes to different secondary
legislative instruments. The use of combined SIs in this manner is something that the committees
which deal with Statutory Instruments in this House and the House of Lords have expressly called on
the Government to do.
