else thank you sir mr. speaker even ruder to nuclear tomorrow or to Hadi and can I first of all and this likely to be my last contribution to the 51st Parliament acknowledge EC and and acknowledge your retirement and I’m a Hindu Kathleen see I am happy to take a call on the enhancing identity verification and border process legislation third reading and as I said in the my first contribution on the on the at the first reading I wondered about whether the meters been taken through this bill that the magnitude of the response were appropriate for the issues that we’ve been address and I think having seen the report from the Law & Order Select Committee and I support the contributions of my colleagues mr. little and mr. seal on this as well that labor still supports this bill I think it did need a response but I wanted to go back to my first contribution impose their question and obviously on this side of the house I and the Labor Party we believe that it needs to be done and so see I think reflecting on everything that actually went on with this if it wasn’t if he wasn’t so illegal and so Dearing he could almost say that what this man did and I haven’t mentioned his name yet was quite not endearing but tenacious in a way and it’s a great shame that he put his skills to the test of the whole system and I think proving that something needed to be done the sad thing about it if it wasn’t you know so you know not only illegal but devastatingly dangerous you know it would be laughable and I think my colleague Calvin Davis made a statement at the time it happened that it was almost farcical so I’m really pleased that New Zealand is able to now put a piece of legislation in place which allows information to be shared amongst those agencies those departments that really need to know what each other are doing and I think that’s a definite [Music] improvement on the way that things that can be done for issues like this I think yeah I remember reading some of the submissions through the slit committee state and I want to acknowledge the law and order Select Committee but I remember one in particular that stood out and their concerns about how far the sharing of that information would go and I think that they they were valid issues at that time but I am satisfied that the Select Committee has considered all of that information and and now we get to the stage of debating the bill as approved by the committee of the whole house and I think it’s incumbent upon members of this house and it’s good to hear that most of the members and parties in the house are supporting this that it’s incumbent upon us they actually consider seriously those issues and I believe we have and so I’m a hand on heart I’m happy to support this bill and it’s theater eating and I commend it to the a security mr. speaker in McElveen
