– I always wanted to
be a defense attorney, I always wanted to be in the court room and I always wanted to be a trial lawyer. And I knew that being a criminal attorney was gonna allow me to be court, it was gonna allow me
to be a trial attorney. Sometimes it’s awesome to see the relief on your clients face when they can tell their side of the story’s comin’ out and their that voice is being heard and that their story is
being conveyed to the jury because up to this point, from the grand jury and arraignment, it’s all been the states case and what the states evidence is but our clients haven’t told
their story yet to the jury and I help ’em do that,
I help tell their story ’cause there’s always
two sides to the story. My colleague, Matt Springer, I think he told me that one time, that was like the advantage that we get, is that we know the truth, we know our clients
side, the state doesn’t and then when we finally go to trial, that’s when we get to tell it. The best feeling in the world
is when the jury comes back and you hear the words not guilty, it’s the best feeling,
it’s the ultimate high and you have that feeling
for the rest of the day and then the next day you start over and you work on the next case. And that’s why I became a lawyer. I’m really proud of the
firm that I’ve built, I’m really proud of our attorneys because they’re all
excellent trial attorneys. To be a good criminal defense attorney you have to be an excellent trial attorney and that’s our philosophy
behind our staff and our hiring and behind our team is that we’re led by excellent trial lawyers.
